Gabry Ponte drops new techno single, “Danger”
Gabry Ponte is back on his record label PENTAPHONIA with an exhilarating techno single, “Danger,” which has peak time energy.
Fresh from a recent collaboration with T78 and previous music made alongside the likes of Sisko Electrofanatik, Gabry Ponte continues to showcase the techno side of his style. “Danger” is a solo effort combining a menacing mainstage melody hook with driving percussion, and he works in some tantalising drops that deliver moments of extreme intensity.
A veteran of Italy’s electronic music scene, Gabry Ponte’s career started in the ’90s when he was a founding member of Eiffel 65, which achieved chart-topping success across Europe with tracks like “Blue (Da Ba Dee).” After finding mainstream success with Eiffel 65, Gabry Ponte launched a solo career as a DJ.
Having played headline DJ sets on mainstages across the globe, Gabry Ponte has also released underground tracks on esteemed record labels ranging from Spinnin’ Records to Ministry of Sound. PENTAPHONIA is a record label he set up to specifically release the harder and more techno focused side of his eclectic style, and “Danger” is a piledriving track ready to take the dance floor by storm.
“Danger” is built around a hammering kick drum and rattling high-end percussion, before introducing the fist-pumping melody of the lead synth. Adding to the high-velocity groove are punishing clap rhythms and a dramatic vocal that links to the track’s title. Wasting no time, and taking no prisoners, this hulking techno track is perfect for any dance floor.
