Tribal Pulse is a record label run by Boom Merchant, and the imprint’s new release Manufacturers of Modern Dancefloor Weaponry, is a dynamic compilation featuring a selection of techno and breakbeat tracks.
The record label is known for its dark and raw sound, which combines thickset basslines and hypnotic drums with memorable synth hooks and samples.
Amongst the ten tracks on the compilation are some of Tribal Pulse’s favourite artists, but other producers are featuring on the record label for the first time.
Boom Merchant features a track, and other regulars include Fragile X, Hockins, Homma Honganji, Lefrenk, and Obsidian Wave.
Iluna is a new artist making her first ever release with a track on this compilation, but there are also established names making their Tribal Pulse debut.
Fractious, Calum Connell, and Moog Conspiracy, are all new kids on the block when it comes to Tribal Pulse, and they each come with a pedigree having individually worked with the likes of Kneaded Pains, Tronic, KD Raw, and CMND CTRL.
There is something for everyone on the release, whether it be Fractious’ hypnotic track “Link in Time”, Lefrenk’s experimental “Pajaro”, Hockins’ breakbeat cut “Virus” or the dystopian ambience of Fragile X’s “Model 706-8073421.” Boom Merchant’s track “Smoke” has his signature swirling drums and prominent bassline overlayered with sweeping pads.
Ready to take the dance floor by storm, this release has a lot of techno weaponry that any DJ will be happy to have in their arsenal.
