Medusa Odyssey, Soberboy

Medusa Odyssey team up with Soberboy to drop new organic house EP “Ze Del”

Medusa Odyssey and Soberboy release their debut collaboration on the mighty Sol Selectas record label. Ze Del features two organic house tracks with Persian vocals, melodic synths, and mesmerising live instruments.

Of the two artists, Medusa Odyssey are already well-known producers, not only for their own music, but also for their work creating backing tracks for the iconic Persian singer, Bahramji. They have previously featured on Sol Selectas’ compilation releases, but are taking centre stage with this collaborative EP.

Soberboy is relatively new to producing music, with this being only his third official release, but he is a leading figure in Dubai’s electronic music scene. For the last 15 years he has been helping grow the popularity of electronic music in his home region, and is one of the most accomplished DJs from that part of the world.

The title track, “Ze Del” has haunting female vocals that are both captivating and dramatic. They are layered over a backing track with sparkling melodies and throbbing bass tones dancing between the shuffling rhythms of the percussion.

“Can’t Sleep” has juddering bass hits with emotive vocals and jerking chord stabs forming a magical groove. Tense pad sweeps add to the breakdown, which builds suspense before a release of energy when the drums are reintroduced.
