Mark Rietveld and 360 Show Design Push the Boundaries of Large-Scale Live Entertainment

Mark Rietveld and 360 Show Design Continue to Shape the Future of Global Festival Production

Every unforgettable festival experience begins long before the gates open. Behind the towering stages, immersive visuals, and defining moments are the creative minds responsible for transforming an idea into an experience shared by thousands. For nearly two decades, Mark Rietveld has been one of those creative forces, helping shape some of the world’s most recognized festivals and live productions.

As Co-Owner and Creative Director of 360 Show Design, Rietveld has built a career around creating immersive environments where design, technology, and storytelling come together. Working alongside an experienced team of designers, production specialists, and technical professionals, he has helped develop large-scale experiences that connect artists and audiences in ways that extend far beyond the performance itself.

Throughout his career, Rietveld has contributed to the creative development of internationally recognized productions including Defqon.1 Festival, Qlimax, Mysteryland, Tomorrowland, the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, Creamfields Chile, Lost Lands Festival, So Track Boa, No Art Festival, Verknipt, EDC Las Vegas, and major productions throughout Australia. Together, these events represent some of the most influential names in live entertainment, drawing audiences from around the world while continually raising the standard for festival production.

The impact of 360 Show Design’s work has also been recognized beyond the festival stage. The company contributed to the record-setting production that earned the Guinness World Record for the largest laser show, featuring 1,100 lasers inside the Johan Cruijff ArenA in the Netherlands. Earlier this year, 360 Show Design also received a Live Entertainment Production Award (LEPA) nomination for its work on the Lost Lands Festival Grand Finale. Together, these achievements further solidify Mark Rietveld’s impact on the industry and reflect the significance of his contributions to large-scale live entertainment.

Rather than simply designing stages, Rietveld approaches every project as an opportunity to tell a story. His work blends architectural design, technical innovation, lighting, visual storytelling, and audience psychology to create environments that become an essential part of the performance itself. Whether producing an intimate visual moment or a massive festival spectacle, his focus remains the same: creating experiences that audiences remember long after the final performance.

Behind every successful production is a collaborative team, and at the heart of 360 Show Design are Head of Production Bart Straver and Head of Design Pieter Truijen. Working alongside Rietveld from concept through execution, both play vital roles in bringing ambitious creative ideas to life.

Pieter Truijen

Straver oversees the technical planning, production coordination, and implementation required to transform complex concepts into fully realized live productions, while Truijen leads the creative design process, developing immersive stage environments that balance artistic vision with technical precision. Together, the three have developed a collaborative workflow that has become a defining strength of 360 Show Design.

Their combined expertise has contributed to internationally recognized productions across Europe, North America, South America, Central America, Australia, and the Middle East. As a team, they have helped deliver projects at a scale and level of complexity that few creative production companies achieve, earning a reputation for innovative design, technical excellence, and seamless execution.

The company’s recent work reflects that continued momentum. Throughout 2026, 360 Show Design has contributed to a series of high-profile international productions, including Verknipt Ziggo Dome, Don’t Let Daddy Know Amsterdam, Verknipt Warehouse Special Easter, Kingsland Festival, Empire Music Festival in Guatemala, Verknipt Unrestricted, EDC Las Vegas, and Verknipt Festival Utrecht.

Among the team’s most significant recent achievements is the redesign of the iconic Basspod stage for EDC Las Vegas 2026. As one of electronic music’s most recognizable festival destinations, Basspod represents another milestone in the company’s growing portfolio and highlights its continued commitment to immersive storytelling, technical innovation, and large-scale experiential design.

For Rietveld, however, success has never been measured solely by the size of the stage or the scale of the production.

“Great show design is about creating moments people remember,” says Rietveld. “Every project starts with a vision, but it’s the collaboration between creative ideas and technical expertise that turns that vision into something audiences can truly experience.”

As 360 Show Design continues expanding its international presence, Rietveld and his team remain committed to pushing creative boundaries and delivering experiences that inspire audiences around the world. Through innovation, collaboration, and a shared passion for live entertainment, they continue to shape the future of festival production while creating record-setting and award-recognized experiences for some of the world’s most celebrated events.
