RELINQUISH is about letting go of control.
There’s no elaborate story behind it, and that is very much the point. Where some of Menson’s recent releases have been driven by vocals, melodies and more defined themes, RELINQUISH puts the groove first.
The drums do much of the talking here, with layers of percussion creating a loose, hypnotic groove that keeps the track moving. A deep, physical low end and stripped-back arrangement leave plenty of space for the rhythm to breathe.
The title reflects the feeling at the centre of the track: surrender the need to control where the music is going, stop thinking about it, and let yourself disappear into the groove.
Sometimes there doesn’t need to be more than that.
No big message. No unnecessary layers. Just solid house music.
