Tamer ElDerini is the Egyptian king of organic house, and “Kalam” is his first solo EP on Sol Selectas.
After releasing numerous tracks on Sol Selectas’ compilations, Kalam includes four of Tamer ElDerini’s original compositions. Each of the tracks combine his Egyptian heritage with electronic sounds to create contemporary music with ancient influence.
Opened by the title track “Kalam,” it’s a fusion of melodic synths, ceremonial vocals and organic percussion. “Baladoka” lifts the energy with Afro rhythms and dazzling Egyptian strings underpinned by a pulsating bass.
“Lotus” has sun-drenched trumpets and crisp claps at the heart of its swaying groove. “Manazel” closes the release with its smouldering downtempo energy and cinematic vocals.
This is a master-crafted release, spanning a range of tempos that showcase Tamer ElDerini’s full-range of styles.
