Meta is officially launching its verified subscription service
Hey, have you heard the news? Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, just launched their own paid subscription service called Meta Verified! It’s similar to Twitter’s service. Basically, users can get their accounts verified with a government ID, get proactive protection from impersonators, and access support for their accounts on both platforms. The service costs $11.99 per month on the web and $14.99 per month on iOS and Android. Not bad, right?
But here’s the catch: if you’re already verified because you’re a public figure, celebrity, or brand, there won’t be any changes made to your account. And while the service has had some positive results from testing in Australia and New Zealand, they’re putting a hold on the feature that gave smaller creators more visibility in search, comments, and recommendations.
Anyway, it’s cool to see how social media platforms are evolving. Remember that time when Twitter’s CEO Elon Musk launched a paid subscription service? Yeah, he did that back in October. With Twitter Blue, you can get verified, an edit button on posts, and even post longer videos for $8 per month. It’s interesting to see how these paid services are shaping up. What do you think, worth it or not?
