Following the massive success of her debut solo album Heavenly, HALIENE returns to Black Hole Recordings on March 24 to release a deluxe version of the project. Heavenly (Divine Edition) features three new tracks – ‘Hollow (w/ Elephante)’, ‘Reach Across The Sky (Ben Gold Remix)’, and ‘Glass Heart (Acoustic)’ – and showcases the incredible group of artists that were tapped for Heavenly remixes, including Last Heroes, Craig Connelly, Crankdat, Nifra, Crystal Skies, MaRLo, Nikademis, Awakend, and Markus Schulz.
HALIENE has music in her DNA; Growing up with a jazz pianist father and visual artist mother, HALIENE’s first performance was at four years of age. She rose to fame in the worlds of trance and melodic dubstep, toting collaborations with the likes of Armin van Buuren, Illenium, Gareth Emery, Tritonal, Excision, and Seven Lions to name only a few. When she released her debut solo album Heavenly in 2022, HALIENE was able to establish her unique sound and tell her own story.
Racking up over 5 million streams across all platforms, Heavenly was met with much acclaim and quickly became a fan favorite. HALIENE remained on the cover of Spotify’s Bass Lounge editorial playlist for six weeks following the release, and received strong support in Apple Music and Amazon’s editorial playlists as well. Heavenly saw radio support from some of dance music’s biggest tastemakers, such as SiriusXM’s BPM, iHeartRadio’s Evolution, and local markets from Seattle to Miami.
The previously unreleased Ben Gold remix of ‘Reach Across the Sky’ is a standout on the Divine Edition. Recently debuted for thousands at A State of Trance live in Utrecht, the track begins with HALIENE’s serene vocals isolated, before Ben Gold’s pulsating production kicks in moments later. The pounding beat is the driving force behind the remix, captivating the listener with its infectious rhythm. During the track’s peak, HALIENE’s raw lyrics “I still wonder if you hear me cry / And reach across the sky” juxtapose the warm blanket of euphoria caused by Gold’s hypnotic melody, resulting in a deeply emotional sonic experience.
Speaking on the project, HALIENE explains: My album Heavenly explores the nature of transcendent identity and the power of music to heal and move us. The songs were written to stand on their own, outside the trappings of any one production sound or style. The Divine Edition further captures the spiritual essence of what I set out to do in Heavenly, by expanding the genres in which the songs get to live. I have always seen the remixes of my original songs as new collaborations. As I work with other incredible producers, my songs can have different expressions, highlighting new colors of themselves, allowing my music to live in multiple genres at once.
It is truly the words of a song that can unify the space, from trance to dubstep and this deluxe edition is a reflection of that.
