Boom Merchant drops his new Shifting Sands release on Red Eclipse, and it features two techno tracks with raw intensity.

Hailing from Ireland, and currently living in Mexico, Boom Merchant is a skilled DJ and producer with an impressive resume of achievements. Alongside releases on noteworthy record labels such as Sisko Electrofanatik’s Gain and T78’s Autektone, he also runs the successful Tribal Pulse record label.

Adding to his impressive list of releases, Boom Merchant is also an internationally respected DJ who has played sets in Japan, Germany and many other countries. Recently, he has been establishing himself within the North American scene, and adding to his large European fanbase.

“Shifting Sands” is the darker and more peak time of the two tracks, and it contrasts a gritty groove with an atmospheric breakdown that has gliding pads. The groove has raw drums and a bass synth that is laced with machine funk.

“Backburner” is a slightly deeper track, but it’s got a hypnotic flow with trippy atmosphere, and a dance floor-focused energy. Its smouldering intensity makes this both a great DJ tool and a nice track for headphone listening.
