Disfreq launch new label Le Freq Recordings with single ‘The Limit’
‘The Limit’ and Le Freq Recordings land as Donegal duo Disfreq break into the U.S., playing New York, Denver, San Francisco, Sound Los Angeles, CRSSD Festival San Diego and the return of Space Miami, with a final performance in Chicago.
Irish brothers Disfreq launch their new imprint Le Freq Recordings, kicking off with the single ‘The Limit’, out on Friday 25th October.
‘The Limit’ captures Disfeq’s in-your-face, synth-heavy techno sound, one that can create pure carnage in clubs. The energy fails to falter throughout, as various synths whirr out of control, a raw distorted acid bassline growls into view and the track’s vocal refrain, “ drives the energy to the max.

Disfreq explain: “We stripped it back on this one without loosing our signature sound, we were playing around with new kick drum samples and wanted a kick that had a lot of attack and bite but also held its warmth a bit like the main synth lead, we wanted the track to feel like electricity in its purest form and came up with a vocal to compliment it, simplicity was always key in this one and it’s been really a stand out track in our live sets.”
Disfreq have featured on dance music’s hottest labels, including Solomun’s Diynamic, Eli Browns Arcane, Patrick Topping’s Trick, Tiga’s Turbo Recordings. This time, the duo bring their distinctive sound to their own label, the brand-new Le Freq Recordings.
“It’s a really proud moment for us both to be releasing this on our brand new record label “Le Freq” recordings it’s something we are both very passionate about and feel its a great way for us to Truly hone in on the sound of Disfreq, be experimental, and show you more than the tip of the iceberg in terms of our productions which I think you will hear a hint of on the other two tracks on this EP , “Sprite” and “The Writing is On the Wall” nasty but classy.”
‘The Limit’ follows Disfreq’s August-released two-track EP, ‘Turbo / Brotata’, which came out on Arcane Music. ‘Turbo’ is a colossal techno destroyer domineered by an alarm-like synth and a spoken vocal, while ‘Brotata’ is layered with crunching percussion and raw, haunting spectral synths. To complete this EP, Disfreq released a music video for ‘Turbo’ in August. Directed by AI-focused Warsaw-based director Bengt Tibert, its black and white visuals depict a chaotic scene of bodies morphing and merging in a disturbing way – a perfect visual accompaniment to the track’s sinisterly spooky sonics.

Disfreq are an in-demand dance duo made up of Joe and Cahir Kelly, two brothers hailing from Donegal in Ireland. In just four years, their epic, dark sound – reminiscent of The Chemical Brothers and Justice – has been played by the likes of Solomun, Joseph Capriati, Tale of Us, Jamie Jones, Adriatique, CamelPhat, Patrick Topping, Rebūke, Deborah De Luca and Boys Noize, among others. Since their first release ‘304’ on Tech City in 2020, they’ve garnered over 80,000 Spotify monthly streams, received three ‘Track ID’s and an ‘Essential New Tune’ on BBC Radio 1, with heavy support coming from Pete Tong, Sarah Story and Danny Howard. They’ve also had regular DSP support across Spotify, Apple, Amazon and Beatport, including on popular playlists New Music Friday and All Dance Rising.
Disfreq are currently in the middle of a US tour, having played Elsewhere in New York and at 1134 Broadway in Denver. Now, they’re set to play at Halcyon in San Francisco, Sound Nightclub in Los Angeles, CRSSD FESTIVAL in San Diego, Space in Miami and Spybar in Chicago. They also recently created a guest mix for the Terminal V podcast, which will go live on 7th October.
This new single, ‘The Limit’, from Disfreq arrives as the Irish duo cruise effortlessly towards techno stardom. Now given the freedom to launch liberally through their label Le Freq Recordings, their sound is set to shake up dance music even further.
