Fractures is back with his latest single ‘Do Nothing’, pulled from his forthcoming LP ShiftWith his latest single, we hear the Melbournian artist leaning further into a deep house soundscape, while maintaining the same club-stomping intensity as his past releases.

Presented as somewhat of a sequel to recent single ‘Burnt’, in ‘Do Nothing’ Fractures evokes, in his own words, “the sensation of flying blind” without knowing whether a safe landing or collision course lies ahead. Beginning as nothing more than an amalgamation of half-baked tones and sounds stacked on top of each other, the single was stripped back down and rebuilt with the help of ARIA-nominated producer Simon Lam to create the bouncy, flawlessly produced track that it is today.

With the announcement of his upcoming album Shift, set to release in June 2023, the electronic artist has marked a new era. After some years of sonic transformation, experimentation and growth, Fractures has shifted from his ambient/liminal roots, now exploring more technical and energised production.

Speaking on the record, the brains behind Fractures Mark Zito says, “Shift represents change for meEach song is the result of different individual influences, artists that overlapped with my sensibilities, and of me exploring different approaches to electronic music. The whole album represents the progress of that journey of learning that I’m still on.”

FRACTURES is the moniker of Melbournian singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Mark Zito. His discography has seen support from BBC Radio 1 and amassed over 40 million streams globally. The fast-rising talent is also signed to Fader Label alongside the likes of Clairo, has opened for the likes of Daughter, Holy Holy, Wild Beasts, and has performed at large festivals such Splendour in the Grass and in the famous Hammerstein Ballroom. Collaboratively he has thrown himself in the deep end, working with various artists on esteemed electronic label Anjunadeep.

The artist has also been selected as a finalist in the Vanda & Young Global Songwriting Competition (previous winners include Genesis Owusu, Matt Corby, Kimbra). Find more information HERE.

Continuing his journey of experimentation and growth, ‘Do Nothing’ is another jewel in FRACTURES’ increasingly hyped album campaign.
