INTERVIEW: liquidfive sheds light on new release ‘You & I’ and tells future plans
How would you describe your sound?
My music is danceable and very modern, yet also suitable for radio play. I’m working on developing a unique style that gives my music a high degree of recognizability. I focus especially on making the choruses very melodic and powerful.
Your last release, ‘You & I’ on Soave is a real summer anthem, can you tell me more about the creative process on this one?
The creative process for “You & I” was a fantastic and truly international collaboration. The song was created with Crüpo from Holland and NIGHTIME! from Finland, and it features the amazing vocals of Tima Dee from San Francisco, USA. I only recently met Crüpo when he sent me his demo and asked if I would work on the song with him. I traveled to his studio, and we hit it off immediately. Since the demo, which he had worked on with NIGHTIME!, was already very well done, our main focus was to give the song its final polish and enhance the overall quality. I’m really proud of the result and I think it turned out great.
How is the process of working with Soave compared to other labels?
Working with Soave has been a very professional experience and is truly at a high level. I can honestly say that as an artist, you feel very well supported there. The team is highly dedicated and attentive to the needs of their artists, making the collaboration smooth and efficient. It’s definitely not my last song with them, as the experience has been exceptionally positive compared to other labels.
What do you have coming up for the rest of 2024?
There’s a lot happening in 2024 that I’m really excited about. First, on May 31st, my next song “Don’t Look Back 2.0” will be released. It’s a collaboration with the LonelyBrothers from France, my producer friend Alltag, and Kush Rust. I’m particularly excited about this track because it’s a remake of my successful 2023 song “Don’t Look Back,” featuring extended vocals and more progressive production.
In July, I’ll be part of a major collaboration with two global superstars, although I can’t reveal their names just yet. Additionally, I’ll be touring festivals across Germany. There are even more exciting announcements to come, but I’ll share those when the time is right. Stay tuned!
What is your favourite thing about the German dance music scene?
My favorite thing about the German dance music scene is its pioneering spirit in electronic dance music. Germany has always been at the forefront, producing internationally recognized dance music stars who consistently set new musical trends. These artists hold their own against competition from other countries. As a German artist myself, I’m working hard to achieve international success with my music, and it’s inspiring to be part of a scene with such a rich history and vibrant presence in the global dance music community.
If you could play a headline set at any festival in the world, which would it be and why?
If I could play a headline set at any festival in the world, it would be the Ultra Music Festival in Miami. I simply love this city, and the festival has a special flair for me. The Ultra Festival brand represents modern music that is constantly evolving and always striving to capture the hottest sounds. I work every day with the goal of playing there in the future. It would be a dream come true to be part of such an iconic event in a city that I adore.
What are your hobbies outside of music? How do you like to spend your time when you’re not in the studio?
Hahaa, yes, I get this question a lot. In my free time, I love spending time with my friends and family. I enjoy fishing, cycling, and spending a lot of time at the gym. Occasionally, I watch a Netflix series or a good football match in the evenings. I also enjoy listening to classical music and a lot of new music to find inspiration for my own songs.
Finally, do you have any advice for young producers?
Sure, I can definitely offer some advice to young producers. One of the most important things is to always believe in yourself and not let setbacks derail you. To succeed in the music industry, you need one thing above all: patience and perseverance. There were many times I thought about giving up on music because things weren’t progressing as quickly as I hoped and the success didn’t come as I envisioned. Work hard and believe in your dreams, and you will achieve your goals.
Thank you very much for your support, I will try to repay you with good music.
