LYOD & Alexis Troy release profound new single, ‘Codeine’
This deeply emotive single is part of the pair’s upcoming, long-awaited ‘Nightfall’ EP
Cologne dance sensation LYOD teams up with multi-platinum producer Alexis Troy for the new emotional single, ‘Codeine’, out on 25th October via OUT FIT. It’s part of their forthcoming eight-track collaborative EP, ‘Nightfall’.
On ‘Codeine’, LYOD and Alexis deliver a sense of longing and fragility rarely seen in dance music. LYOD’s signature sound is slowed to a hypnotising pace, as he and Alexis weave a haunting vocal into a warm backing track.
It’s part of the pair’s forthcoming collaborative project, the ‘Nightfall’ EP. On this, LYOD steps into the night, delivering a darker, dancefloor-ready soundscape across eight tracks. Collaborating with German multi-platinum producer Alexis Troy, the EP brings to life ideas Alexis had been collecting for years.
To coincide with the single, LYOD brought his incredible LYOD – LIVE show to 60hz Club Berlin on Friday 11th October. Fresh off a sold-out show in Cologne, he delivered a unique, raw performance, with a stripped-back setup that allowed fans to experience rare improvised musical moments that may never be released, making it a truly one-of-a-kind event.
LYOD, born Niklas Heidkamp from Cologne, Germany, has become a key name in dance music as of late, amassing over 100 million streams through hit tracks like ‘Underwater’ ft. Celi and his 2020 hit, ‘Do It For Love’. LYOD’s debut album ‘Forgot How You Dance’ dropped in September 2023, blending emotion and soul into dance music, with several tracks going viral on TikTok. Supported by top DJs like R3hab and Sam Feldt, LYOD’s catchy dance sound has also been backed by Beatportal and featured in major music outlets.
