Marc Romboy & Skatman link up for ‘Summer Of 1986’ on Systematic Recordings
Techno titan Marc Romboy returns to his mighty Systematic Recordings for a special new collaboration with Skatman.
Romboy is one of the underground’s most accomplished artists. He has played around the world for decades while crafting left of centre and synth laced techno jams like no one else. Skatman is a producer, DJ, and label head of Cognitive Prophecy who has gained recognition for his distinctive approach to electronic music, especially with his releases on Innervisions. He has remixed Romboy before and now shows his class on this new track.
Summer of 1986 is a subtle throwback with retro house stabs bringing the energy to richly designed drums. A moody, dark vocal adds menace while squalling acid bursts out of this most vibrant mix and melancholic synths add an introspective edge.
This is a superb coming together of two top techno talents.
