Moovin Festival is thrilled to unveil its 2025 lineup, featuring a curated selection of artists and a unique festival experience designed to captivate and inspire. Celebrating its 11th edition, Moovin Festival takes place from June 13th-15th at the stunning eco-friendly Whitebottom farm in Compstall, nestled within the breathtaking Etherow Country Park in Stockport. The picturesque setting is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful festival sites in the UK.
This intimate and independent festival boasts a distinct counter-cultural feel, with a passion for booking the freshest acts alongside surprisingly big names. It offers a laid-back way to see or if you feel like it gets up close and personal with your favourite acts,
The 2025 lineup is headlined by the revolutionary jazz-fusion ensemble Ezra Collective, whose innovative sound has garnered international acclaim. Fresh from their awe-inspiring Wembley show, Mercury Prize win, and four Brit Award nominations, Ezra Collective’s music is a masterful blend of jazz, afrobeat, and soul, characterized by infectious grooves, intricate melodies, and an irrepressible energy that invites all to dance. Their seamless fusion of traditional jazz with modern influences positions them as one of the most exciting and important acts on the UK music scene today.
Joining the festivities will be the French house maestro Folamour, renowned for his soulful and emotive sound, as well as his captivating onstage charisma, making his performance an absolute must-see. The lineup continues to impress with the inclusion of drum & bass pioneers Roni Size, Fabio & Grooverider, funk and soul luminary Craig Charles, Chicago house legend Derrick Carter, and the iconic hip-hop royalty, The Sugarhill Gang.
Down on the farm, you can also discover some of Manchester’s finest tastemakers, including the deep Digging Mr. Scruff, Luke Una,rubbing shoulders with Haçienda legends Graeme Park, DJ Paulette, and Jon Dasilva. World music is also well represented, with dynamic performances and vibrant grooves from the likes of Ibibio Sound Machine, who blend traditional Nigerian sounds with contemporary electronic and disco elements. Complementing Ezra Collective and Ibibio Sound Machine, the eclectic lineup also features bands such as Afroquaoi, Dr. Meaker, and Riot Jazz, each bringing their unique sound to the festival’s distinctive “Barn Stage.”
In addition to these renowned acts, the real beauty of festivals lies in the discovery of emerging talent. The Moovin team has searched far and wide, taking pride in booking lesser-known artists and providing them with a platform to shine. You’ll have the chance to experience unique performances from artists you may not have heard of, including the beautiful reggae beats of Lavender Fields, the soulful blend of jazz and hip hop from Witch Prophet, and the hauntingly alluring music of Marie Franc. Each of these incredible women possesses a remarkable voice that Moovin is delighted to showcase.
Moovin Festival is an independent, counter-culture gathering set in a unique setting on what was once an old dairy farm. The festival’s main stage is a converted barn, complete with straw bales for lounging while sipping a reasonably priced £5 pint. Located just 30 minutes from Manchester and Sheffield, yet feeling like a world away, the festival offers a tranquil escape from urban chaos. Situated at the eco-friendly Whitebottom Farm, festival-goers traverse through a magical canopy of trees, past lakes teeming with beautiful birds, and are welcomed by a breathtaking gorge at the entrance.
