Patrik Widmer releases new hard-hitting techno single, “Touch My Soul”

Patrik Widmer is a Swiss techno producer living in Zürich, and he has a peak time style that blends euphoric tension with slamming percussion. Paying homage to ‘90s trance and acid techno, his music has hands-in-the-air breakdown sections, which are sandwiched between the menacing groove of pounding percussion.

Touch My Soul is Patrik Widmer’s new release, and it is a single with two versions that have both been produced by Patrik. Each version packs a serious punch, but the ‘Rave Mix’ lifts the tempo and intensity.

This release would be well-suited to the DJ sets of people like Reinier Zonneveld, as the original mix of “Touch My Soul” has a rolling bassline with pulsating energy and a pounding kick drum. Ethereal synths dance around the high frequencies to create an uplifting atmosphere that contrasts against the brutality of the groove. Closing the release is the ‘Rave Mix’ which adds a monstrous acid line with even more powerful percussion, and there is also a breakbeat added to the breakdown to give it an old-school flavour.
