Shamoun drops middle-eastern organic house single “Meso Haus” via Sol Selectas
Shamoun is an American organic house producer and multi-instrumentalist whose new single Meso Haus also includes remixes by Valeron and Anatolian Sessions.
The release is on Sabo’s record label Sol Selectas, which is the outlet that first featured Shamoun when he made his debut as part of a collaboration made with Sabo and Namito. That track was a popular production, and this time Shamoun shows off his solo skills.
Originally from Detroit, but currently living in Los Angeles, Shamoun is a multi-instrumentalist who is inspired by Middle-Eastern culture. He showcases this love by playing a live electric bağlama for the melody in the track, and the flowing notes give it an organic sound, which is held steady by sequenced drums. He also adds pads and a melodic synth bass that give the track a smooth and flowing groove.
Both of the remix artists are established names within the organic house scene. Valeron is a Greek artist whose Afro-influenced style can be heard on his labels Bercana Music and Yulunga. He has also featured on record labels ranging from Stil vor Talent to MoBlack Records. His remix of “Meso Haus” draws focus to the drums with extra percussion adding to the melody of the original.
Anatolian Sessions is a Turkish artist who runs the Harabe record label, and has also featured on Pipe & Pochet, Katermukke, and Lump Records. His version of “Meso Haus” adds a throbbing bassline and tight snare hits that add intensity to his rework that also has an increased tempo.
