Sound Waves in Portugal is back the 8th of July with techno, hard techno and underground
The 16th edition of Sound Waves takes place in Esmoriz, Ovar, Portugal, 8th of july with 21 hours of techno, hard techno and underground non stop. Ravers all over the world can see this huge line up with the headliners Indira Paganotto, Lilly Palmer, Fatima Hajji, 999999999, Cristobal Pesce, Nico Moreno, Charlie Sparks, and Basswell. In the portuguese line, the references are Carlos Manaça, Miss Sheila, DU/ART, Otta and Ornella among others.
Sound Waves doors will open saturday, 8th of Julhy at 5:00 p.m. and the festival will end at 2:00 p.m. the following day, with 21 hours of dancing with the sounds of Techno and Underground. The venue will have a renewed concept, together with a visual production of another level and a setting that will surprise all those who are passionate about the genre in a unique atmosphere, on the coast of Esmoriz. It will be the biggest party so far, celebrating the 18th anniversary of the festival, adding the greatest exponents of the current national and international scene to the lineup.
Indira Paganotto arrives from Spain to present an energetic mix set of Psy Progressive, Minimal and Techno elements. Fatima Hajji, will expose her explosive rhythms of analog and classical roots. Of German nationality, the world-class young producer, a reference in the Techno genre, Lilly Palmer, will evoke a canvas of emotions with her powerful and impulsive technology mixed with deep sounds.
Continuing with the international lineup, from Italy the duo 999999999 lands in Portugal, their unwavering presence creates a powerful Hard Techno base, which provokes the maximum physical and emotional response in the biggest Techno events in the world. The renowned French Producer Nico Moreno arrives with an impeccable act showing why he is one of the Techno producers of the moment.
Hailing from England Charlie Sparks will present a good dose of sounds acid, industrial and Psytrance. The charismatic Chilean artist Cristobal Pesce, with his staging, will make the stage vibrate with his Techno/Psytrance approach.
In the line of rising producers we can find on the bill Basswell, an enthusiast of Hard-Techno based in France, who with his phenomenon shares his powerful movement, rave. Also, Karlos Molina from Madrid, has a successful attitude in the controls where he intersperses his Progressive and Techno sounds perfectly.
Within the Portuguese scene, Miss Sheila, the Techno diva, will be in charge of once again winning her title as the best DJ in her country. Ornella joins the celebration with a very signature powerful set. Likewise, ØTTA will not leave behind its sound effect, taking lovers of the genre to an unforgettable dance frequency. The most representative contemporary Portuguese DJ and ambassador of electronic music, Carlos Manaça promises to provide a masterful act. DU’ART from his native country will arrive with his distinctive talent and unparalleled technique on the controls, providing a set of Techno Groovy from another dimension.
The festival, based in Portugal since 2005, returns with a consolidated version to share the same taste for Techno/Underground music, and present an unforgettable experience during 21 hours of non-stop dancing; forming together a new chapter in the history of Sound Waves.

Since its creation, Sound Waves has been one of the most important events, bringing together a whole community united by Techno/Underground music from different regions around the world, on the coast of Esmoriz, Portugal. It obtained two nominations through the Iberian Festival Awards as: “Best Medium Dimension Festival” and “Best Tourism Promotion”.
After postponing two consecutive editions due to the pandemic, in 2022 Sound Waves returned stronger than ever for its 15th edition and welcomed 4,000 ravers, who lived a memorable musical journey.
