Terry Golden Talks About The Production of His Track ‘Get It Together’

In this exclusive interview, Terry Golden provides a behind-the-scenes look into his latest release, ‘Get it Together’ Terry Golden has emerged as a powerful force in the Electronic music scene and continues to spread his reach across the world.
We catch up with Terry to discuss the inspiration behind the track, his favorite element, and what fans can expect from him in the future.
Hi Terry Golden! How are you doing?
Hey, thanks for having me. I’m feeling great with so many exciting things going on, keeping me busy with music and everything around it.
‘Get it Together’ is finally out, can you tell us what kickstarted the production of the track?
Yes, it was back in the early summer of 2022 that I made the first part of this track. Subsequently, it has become version 2 and version 3, where I have changed the vocals and the drop. The goal was to make a nice melodic techno track, but a vocal and a drop really shined through. I think I succeeded with this, and I’m very proud of the track.
Are there any new genre or sonic explorations you’re experimenting with for this song?
There was no real experimentation with this track as the mission and vision were clear. It should be a melodic techno track or deeper progressive house, but with a clear vocal. However, I have given the drop an extra zest, which for some may have an element of mainstage sound.
What’s your favorite element of the track?
Well, it’s always hard to pick a favorite element, as it depends on the listener’s perspective and the track’s intended purpose. But if I had to choose, I’d say my favorite part is right after the intro when the vocals start, and the big lead comes in to set the tone for the rest of the track.
How was the production process of this release?
I follow a fairly strict recipe when I produce, because after several years of experience, I have found that this is the way I get the best inspiration. In this case, the track was built around the vocal, although I have changed it along the way. The vocal and the drop are two very important elements.
Did you have to overcome any struggles while working on this track?
Well, I actually ended up redoing the track twice. After initially finishing it, I listened to it several times, and the feeling just wasn’t there. So, I decided to start over from scratch and try again until I was satisfied with the final result.
How does this song measure up to your previous releases?
This is my second release in 2023, and like the first release ‘Dreamer,’ it’s a clear picture of the new sound around Terry Golden, which you will hear in the future.
Can you describe ‘Get it Together’ to someone who hasn’t heard it yet?
If you like sweet music in your ears that surprises but also fulfills exactly what the track is supposed to do, then just click play. The track works in several settings, both when a little energy needs to be used, but also when you need a little reflection.
Where would you say it’s best to listen to this track?
When you want to feel good, but for sure in your car / train / bus or whatever transportation is your favorite. Also works well when exercising, and even on the dance floor, give it some gas.
What’s next for Terry Golden?
We are working hard on a whole new visual identity, so I guarantee that it’s not just the sound of the music that has changed. There will be a brand-new logo, visuals, website, and most importantly, you will see the new Terry Golden live character, and it will all be shown for the very first time, along with a lot of new music when I go on stage for the first time at Ultra Music festival in Miami on March 24-26, 2023. Expect a bit of mystery with a lot of Golden flavor on top. Melodic Techno & House can be fun and euphoric without having to be so serious all of the time.
