XOYO Birmingham has revealed the details of its official launch in the second city. The renowned club brand will take over three sites in Lower Trinity St in Digbeth to create a modular, multi-room venue with a total capacity of nearly 3000. With a strong focus on electronic music and live programming, this will become one of the Midland’s biggest and most versatile clubs. XOYO Birmingham has invested over £500,000 – with further investment planned – in a full creative refurb with cutting-edge production and is committed to providing a safe, inclusive dancefloor as part of a quality clubbing experience. The opening parties take place on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th September. To celebrate this launch XOYO Birmingham is giving away 1000 free entry tickets (500 each night) and then a further 1000 tickets (500 each night) priced at just £5 (plus booking fee). All details are at www.xoyobirmingham.co.uk.

XOYO Birmingham teased its launch with a poster campaign and the message ‘All We Wanna Do Is Dance’ referencing the epidemic of club closures across the country (over 1/3 of all clubs closed by the end of 2022 according to the NTIA). Now it turns the message into reality with a dynamic clubbing experience across 5 spaces: XOYO (main room), A/V, The Roof Garden (open air), The Factory, and The Yard (open air), creating an exciting footprint stretching from 25 – 29 Lower Trinity Street in Digbeth, an area renowned for its vibrant nightlife.

Michael Kill, NTIA CEO said, “Looking forward to attending the opening of XOYO in Birmingham. The expansion of new venues like this highlights the vibrant growth and investment in the region’s nightlife. Exciting spaces contribute immensely to our cultural landscape. Congratulations to the team behind this venture.”

This modern, modular club design is capable of hosting big events with globally renowned promoters including Cafe Mambo Ibiza, Pure Garage, Percolate, Louder, Cirque Du Sol, and Hospitality dropping in through autumn, and will celebrate some of the biggest talents in electronic music. Artists taking to the XOYO Birmingham decks through autumn include Interplanetary Criminal, Yung Singh, Shy FX, Todd Edwards, Ben Hemsley, Roger Sanchez, Goddard, Danny Howard, Charlie Tee, Stanton Warriors, Metrik, Roni Size, Sammy Virji, Keyrah, MPH, Benny Page and many more.

XOYO Birmingham will also provide a supportive platform for the flourishing talent found in the Midlands. This commitment to the region’s club brands and artists is seen on the lineup for the Saturday 16th September launch party which features Weird Science (the team behind MADE – the city’s biggest electronic music festival), Revolve, Disco Pussy, re:cord, DJ Russke, Shaqfive, Genesis, Boxout, Frenetic, and Girl Grind UK among others.

The two launch events at XOYO Birmingham are full venue showcases and will give customers a chance to see the whole complex in its entirety. The Friday 15th September party gives a distinct nod to its sister venue, XOYO London, with a lineup featuring Fabio & Grooverider, Charlie Tee, Ed Solo B2B Deekline (Jungle Cakes Takeover), 4AM Kru (Live), Crazy P, Dr Banana B2B Laidlaw, and more. On the Saturday night, the venue will feature some of the region’s best homegrown and thriving urban talent with the likes of Russke, Shaqfive, Girl Grind UK featuring Mystic Meg, Melly and Namywa, Day Day, Boxout with Buxley, Amplify Sounds, and much more.

From the 22nd September, XOYO Birmingham’s weekly, in-house XOYO Fridays promise affordable, intelligent programming where the dancefloor always comes first. This weekly journey through quality electronic music will utilise the venue to its fullest as a multi-genre, multi-room experience and is sure to become the essential start to Birmingham’s weekend clubbing adventures.

Live music will also find a home at XOYO Birmingham with a diverse lineup of live acts already confirmed throughout autumn including Max Cooper, The Royston Club, Abel Selaocoe, BC Camplight, The Lottery Winners, Black Grape, Sundara Karma, Movements, The View and more. XOYO Birmingham will become a key stop-off on the live circuit with a vastly improved live gig experience alongside an increase in quality live music programming.

The audio-visual experience at XOYO will cement the venue as a jewel in Birmingham’s nightlife crown. d&b audiotech provides the XOYO (main Room) soundsystem with extra subs added to boost the low end and ensure clubbers really feel the music. A state-of-the-art, multi-level, 360-degree laser system will fire onto the dancefloor from all directions and project breathtaking visuals. This will be twinned with additional club lighting to create an audio-visual sensory spectacular.

A/V has been installed with 360-degree sound and provides stunning, immersive visuals from all angles with wall and ceiling LED Panels. The Roof Garden will also feature a d&b audiotechnik soundsystem, while brand new space The Factory will see clubbers get up close to their favourite artists and boasts an L-Acoustics audio setup and an in-your-face lighting system. The Yard, a 650-cap outdoor space, is set to reveal a new 360-degree soundsystem making it the city’s hottest outdoor spot for summer 2024.

Birmingham’s clubbing community should have no preconceptions about this venue; XOYO is a proven, respected clubbing brand and will bring new levels of professionalism and customer experience, such as open, friendly security, new air-con in all relevant spaces plus a scenter system, a new dancefloor in XOYO (main room), and refurbed toilets. XOYO Birmingham will even reduce queues at the bar with the introduction of Boxbar – hi-tech, self-service bar machines capable of serving a chilled double shot plus mixer in just six seconds.

XOYO Birmingham is changing everything but the message remains the same – ‘All We Wanna Do Is Dance.’
